Brekky Prep; Overnight Porridge Three Ways

Introducing The Muesli Porridge Pack!

With all you need to make a delicious porridge base.

Add the toppings in the recipe below and voila! You have three delicious Winter brekky’s ready to go.

Spend 2 minutes the night before mixing one of these combinations, pop it in a container and take it to work the next day for a warming, nutritious, sugar conscious breakfast!

ROSE & RASPBERRY

– 3 dessert spoons of The Muesli Classic
– 2 dessert spoons of The Muesli Rolled Oats
– 1 dessert spoon of rose water
– 2 dessert spoons of frozen raspberries, crumbled in your hands (+ extra 1/3 cup microwaved for 40 seconds, for topping)
– 2-3 dessert spoons of unsweetened coconut or full fat greek or natural yoghurt.
-1/2 a cup of unsweetened almond milk

COFFEE & COCONUT

– 3 dessert spoons of The Muesli Classic
– 2 dessert spoons of The Muesli Rolled Oats
– 1 shot of espresso coffee (strong instant also works)
– 5 dessert spoons of coconut milk
– Cacao nibs and flaked coconut, for topping (optional)

CARROT CAKE
– 3 dessert spoons of The Muesli Classic
– 2 dessert spoons of The Muesli Rolled Oats
– 1/2 of a cup of loosely packed grated carrot
– 1 tsp of orange zest
– 1/2 a tsp of cinnamon
– 1/2 a cup of milk
– A pinch of stevia (optional – we prefer to leave it out!)
– 4-5 pecan nuts, to top (optional)
 


METHOD
(for all combinations)

1. Combine all ingredients except for the toppings in a sealable container and stir well.

2. Seal the container and place in the fridge overnight (you can also make several portions in a large bowl and scoop out as you need during the week).

3. In the morning, take the container, as well as any toppings (in a separate container or jar), to work.

4. When ready to eat, add a splash of water to loosen the mixture and stir well.

5. Microwave on high for 45 seconds, before removing to stir, and repeating.

6. Top with any toppings and then enjoy warm, nutritious porridge at your desk!
